ملخص الدراسة:

The present research paper examined the importance of religious heritage and its role in the identification of the Algerian Sahrawi society, where we studied some of mosques architecture in the Ziban region adopting a descriptive and analytical approach. The mosque's religious architecture in this region this region are characterized by simplicity, clarity and sobriety. After the expansion and spread of Islam, the architecture of the mosques became a popular art until these buildings and facilities became a symbolic legacy of the cultural identity and liturgical practices of the Ziban’s society. This study showed that the nature of religious life has a direct impact on the architecture of the mosque. This influence is mainly the integration of the mausoleum saint Muslim (Wali or Marabout) into the basic components of the mosques. The importance of this research is to enrich the knowledge on the religious heritage in the south of Algeria.
