ملخص الدراسة:

The study aimed to investigate the degree of practicing sustainable leadership by directors of education in Gaza Governorates and its development ways. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the analytical-descriptive approach and designed a questionnaire consisting of (48) items distributed into (5) domains. The study sample was (122) deputy directors and heads of the department in the directorates of education. The study population consisted of (133) members. The researcher also used the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) to process the questionnaires. The study most important findings were as follows: the degree of practicing sustainable leadership by directors of education in Gaza Governorates from the viewpoint of deputy directors and heads of departments was significant with a percentage weight of (78.20%). There were no statistically significant differences between the means of the study sample members’ estimates of the degree of practicing sustainable leadership by directors of education in Gaza Governorates attributed to variables of job title, academic qualification and years of service. The researcher presented a set of proposals for the development of the degree of education directors’ practice of sustainable leadership. Based on the previous findings, the researcher put forward several recommendations, the most important of which included: The directors should involve employees working in the directorate in decision making, accept their proposals and implement them. Courses should be held to develop the skills of the directors’ assistants through the transfer of directors’ expertise so that the assistants can shoulder the responsibility with the directors and after their departure.
