Such methods included giving the ill good tidings, encouraging him to be patient, putting one's hand on the pain site, talking to the patient and describing the facts to persuade them, meeting the ill's beneficial desires and not forcing them to take medication or food. The research concluded that palliative care is in line with the teachings of Islam, especially kindness, provision of help and accurate performance of work. Visiting the ill, as directed by the Prophet (peace be upon him), is a form of palliative care that sheds light on a unique prophetic approach to mitigate pain and provide such care.
