ملخص الدراسة:

Abstract The aim of this study is to identify the impact of environmental and personal factors on the success of freelance practices in Gaza Strip. The study population consists of all higher education graduates in Gaza Strip who are working via the Internet in a freelance basis. The researcher used the descriptive method to reach out results of the study, and used a questionnaire as a study tool, which is distributed electronically on the study sample counted 155 individuals. The statistical analysis program SPSS was used for analyzing and explaining the data. The study comes up with several results, which were not encouraging regarding the environmental factors (Higher Education, Economic Status, and Societal Culture). In general, the higher education got a relative weight of 38.6% as an influencer and helper to the success of freelance practices, while the economic status got a weight of 45.41% as an influencer and helper, and the third factor, which is societal culture, got a neutral weight with 54.75%. As regarding to the personal factors, the results were positive. The personality traits got a relative weight of 77.14% as influencer and helper to the success of freelance practices, while the study found that 73.98% of the sample already have the basic and necessary skills to success in the freelance market via the Internet. The study ended with several recommendations that can help to spread the culture of freelance business between graduates and contribute to achieve the success and sustainability for self-employed individuals via the Internet, and here are some of the main recommendations: - Universities should enhance the current academic curriculum to include more entrepreneurial subjects, keep in touch with latest required skills in the global market, and give a greater attention to improve the managerial and linguistic skills for the students. - Reconsidering the current useless governmental employment programs (Unemployment-based recruitment) and replace them with paid trainings to prepare self-employed individuals who are able to depend on themselves and working via the Internet. - Individuals who are working via the Internet should master the skills of communication, art of self-marketing, English language, and be professional enough in their specialties to survive and success in their business.
