ملخص الدراسة:

Institutional self-assessment and strategic planning and their role in quality assurance in the Palestinian universities (Islamic University of Gaza as a case study)_x000D__x000D_
Abstract: The study aimed to highlight the experience of self- institutional assessment and strategic planning process in Palestinian universities. Institutional self-assessment contributes to the continuous improvement process for its being an essential component of meaningful educational work, and a system of feedback in various decision-making to develop performance in program planning and educational projects and control processes and procedures for implementation and verification of the effectiveness and quality management of educational institution. The study focused on the experience of the Islamic University of Gaza as a case study representing the population of the study, handling research problem concerning institutional self-assessment processes and strategic planning and their role in quality assurance. This study comes to model detailed Palestinian practice for self-assessment and then explain how to benefit from it in making the self-assessment outputs to be the most significant input into the University's strategic planning process. The study followed the descriptive analytical study methodology in addition to using constructivist approach to develop institutional indicators and evaluation criteria. The study outputs were as follows: 1) institutional self-assessment criteria and explanation of how to use them, 2) practical steps to implement the institutional self-assessment with needed forms, 3) results of self-institutional experience and explanation of how it was linked to strategic planning through an integrated model
