ملخص الدراسة:

Abstract Objective of the study: This study aims at identifying the extent of dependence of the Palestinian youth in Gaza governorates on the Palestinian websites for raising their security awareness. Tool of the study: The researcher used a questionnaire to reflect the extent of the Palestinian youth in Gaza governorates on the Palestinian electronic websites for raising their security awareness. Sample of the study: The researcher applied his field study on a random sample of Palestinian youth in the Gaza Strip governorates: Gaza governorate, Khan Younis governorate, Northern governorate, Middle governorate, and Rafah governorate. The sample consisted of 400 subjects, during the period 01/03/2016 until 20/03/2016. Research methodology: This study is descriptive in nature, and uses media survey methodology. The researcher used the theory of reliance on mass media. Key findings of the study: 1. The study concluded that “Majd”, a security website, came first among the specialized electronic websites whose participants depend on for raising their security awareness, with a percentage of 43.2%. Then the Interior Ministry Website comes second with a percentage of 36.5%. 2. The results showed that Donia Alwatan website was ranked first among the electronic websites that the sampling used in raising their security awareness; it scored 50.0 % and Maan News Agency came next, and scored 43.6%. 3. The study revealed that the issue of collaborating with the Occupation took the top priority among the issues of security awareness which the participants follow. It scored 45.2% and it showed that 42.8% are interested in following the question of dangers of social networks and 41.7% are concerned about facing psychosocial warfare. 4. The study revealed that social networks were placed first (84.6%) among the resources the participants rely on in raising their security awareness. Then other websites came next with a percentage of 81.1%. Key Recommendation: 1. It is important to provide the Palestinian electronic websites with the Palestinian cadres who are specialized in the field of security media. 2. It is essential to promote the abilities of those working in the area of security media in the Palestinian websites by enrolling them in specialized courses and developing their knowledge in this filed. 3. It is necessary to set up a security media strategy in accordance with the Palestinian websites, which take into consideration the social and national responsibility.
