This study aims at recognizing the role of social workers in psycho-social guidance and counseling unit at the Islamic University of Gaza – femail students. It also aims at identifying the most prominent problems students face. In this study, the researcher uses content analysis method in the descriptive approach, and analyzes the content of the monthly reports of unit activities and the content of unit record in the last four years, Jan 2009- Dec 2012. The study concludes that individual guidance is the basic role social workers at the unit perform. They hold some social and psychological development courses, give some lectures on topics that interest students, and answer student messages through the unit box. The unit also has a special project for students whose families live abroad known as)Falasteenia Forum(. The study also concludes that the most problems students face and seek help to overcome are respectively studying, social, psychological, emotional, behavioral, and finally sexual problems.
