The purpose of this research is to study some applied examples of the narrators' descents as presented by Imam Abu Musa Al-Madini in his book "Al-Tata’ef men daqa’eq al-ma’aref in the knowledge of al-hoffaz al-a’aref." The study investigated these descents according to the methods adopted by the scholars of hadith through indicating narrators’ descents using the specialized books. The study concluded the following results: The explanation and terminology of Imam Abu Musa al-Madini related to the hadith narrators’ descents gives clear notions about narrator attribution to his father, mother, brothers, and grandfather (possibly without mentioning his father). Some narrators were famous for their attribution to their tribes and for their family relations. Knowledge of the Arab tribes and the narrators attributed to them is considered a specialized branch of genealogy that highlights the extent of the knowledge of critics. This was practiced by Imam Abu Musa al-Madini who attributed hadith narrators to their tribes.
