No notable change occurred on love poetry at the Ommiad era. Spouses feelings remained hidden to great extent. The poet remained unable to declare his wife’s name even in elegy. Our poet, i.e. Ubaidullah bin Abdullah loved his wife Uthma and poetized a poem in her name. He then divorced her to regret that later on and long for her. She, however, refused remarrying him till her death. Mostly, all the poems he poetized about her were sections. Some of Ubaydullah contemporaries denounce his love poetry. For he was a jurist at the same time. He, however, did not care for that.
